Wendy’s Book Lounge was founded in 2010 in the coastal city of East London, where the love of books and stories continues to bring people together.
The owners, Cornelius and Kathy Thomas, have dedicated their retirement years to creating a warm and inviting space for readers, collectors, and anyone who treasures the written word.

Cornelius, a retired history professor and published author, brings a deep appreciation for knowledge, culture, and historical preservation to the collection. Kathy, a retired teacher, adds her eye for detail and passion for learning, ensuring that every book and item is carefully selected and presented with care.

At Wendy’s Book Lounge, we buy and sell a wide range of high-quality pre-loved books, along with classic vinyl records, collectible CDs and DVDs, and beautifully preserved vintage photographs.
Our diverse selection of book genres includes engaging fiction and timeless novels, as well as a rich variety of non-fiction works covering history, politics, literature, art and architecture, film and photography, sports such as rugby, soccer, and cricket, and a growing range of academic titles for students and researchers.

Beyond our collection, we also provide professional editing services for manuscripts, dissertations, and other written works, helping writers refine their craft and achieve excellence in their publishing or academic goals.
